One of the newest members of Alabama’s front seven on defense will miss some practice time, coach Nick Saban announced on Wednesday.

Freshman Stephon Wynn, a strong-side defensive end, of Anderson, S.C. via IMG Academy, suffered a non-surgical ligament strain in Tuesday’s practice.

“It will probably keep him out for a little bit of time,” Saban said. “We hate to lose anybody. We need all the help we can get and all the depth we can, especially with big people, especially in the front seven.”

Wynn was a 4-star recruit in the 2018 class and ranked the No. 3 player at his position. The 6-foot-4, 299-pound was the No. 70 player nationally. Wynn participated in Nike’s “The Opening” in 2017, and was chosen for the 2018 Under Armour All-America game.
