The 2016 season was supposed to be a homecoming of sorts for former Mizzou LB Sean Weatherspoon, as he returned to the Atlanta Falcons after spending the 2015 season with the Arizona Cardinals.
However, after only four games, he ruptured his Achilles and had to miss the rest of the season.
Now, though, he’s back, as the Falcons announced they were re-signing “Spoon” on Twitter on Tuesday evening:

In his career, which has spanned six seasons, Weatherspoon has recorded 246 tackles and eight sacks. He also has two fumble recoveries and two interceptions on his resume.
How long this stint with the Falcons lasts remains to be seen, but the team is happy to have Spoon back in uniform and he will likely be able to pick up where he left off quickly.
Having spent time in the Falcons’ defense last year, there shouldn’t be much of a learning curve this time around.
