Florida has landed a commitment from Gainesville (Fla.) F. W. Buchholz defensive lineman Kendall Jackson.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Jackson had other schools hoping to pull him away from the Gators — namely Arkansas, Miami, and Kentucky, all of whom hosted him on official visits in June — but the prospect of staying home and joining the 2024 class coach Billy Napier is building was too good to pass on. He shared the news on social media Wednesday.

Jackson is a 3-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s ranked as the No. 47 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 63 prospect from the state of Florida. Overall, he sits at No. 463 in the national player rankings.

As a junior, Jackson posted 65 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, 3 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. That was after a sophomore campaign that saw him produce 14 TFLs and 7 sacks. He can create havoc from just about anywhere on the line, making him a versatile option for the Gators to mold as he continues to fill out his frame.

It’s Florida’s 19th known commitment so far this cycle. You can see Jackson’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
