Hall of Fame OL Willie Roaf thinks Frank Ragnow can quickly turn into a Pro Bowl player

The Detroit Lions were thrilled to take former Arkansas OL Frank Ragnow with the No. 20 overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Now, they’ll figure out how to best use the former Hog, as he can play center and either offensive guard position as needed for his new team.
According to Hall-of-Fame OL Willie Roaf, that versatility will come in handy for him. In fact, Roaf told the Detroit Free Press that he thinks Ragnow could quickly become a Pro Bowl-caliber player:
“That will help Frank a lot,” said Roaf. “He’ll be able to move around, but they want to get him where he’s striving at one position. Then they want to lock him into that position. I think he can be a Pro Bowler within the next couple of years.”
Roaf added that Ragnow even has the quickness and size necessary to play tackle if that’s something the Lions need from him:
“He’ll get stronger and it will translate well with his quickness,” Roaf said. “When you have his quickness, feet and balance, you can play multiple positions. He’s not only able to play guard or center, he’s tall enough he could play tackle if they needed him.”
Ragnow has a lot of work to do this summer to get ready for his first NFL season, but if he can step in and play right away, it’ll be a big help for the Lions.
