Lane Kiffin addressed the recent departure of tight end Michael Trigg from the Ole Miss Rebels football program Wednesday afternoon at the SEC’s weekly teleconference.
Trigg’s departure from the team is shrouded in some mystery and Wednesday did no favors for those looking for more information.
Kiffin bluntly addressed his departure to reporters, saying the following:
“We wish him nothing but the best, you know. That’s it. We wish him nothing but the best and he’s not part of our program and that’s it,” Kiffin said.
Trigg had been previously disciplined by Ole Miss, missing the first half of the Rebels’ Week 1 game against Mercer. The former USC tight end dealt with some injury and off-the-field issues across his time in Oxford, which kept his talent from seeing the field.
He caught just 4 passes for 65 yards and a touchdown this season across 3 games of play.
