Lebbeus Overton, the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite rankings, has narrowed his college options down to a dozen schools. And there are still plenty of SEC programs that have a chance to land the 5-star defensive lineman.

Overton announced his top 12 on Wednesday, and he included 7 SEC schools: Alabama, Florida, Georgia Kentucky, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M. In addition to those programs, he’s also considering Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC.

Overton currently attends Milton (Ga.) High School, so if he decides he wants to stay in state, then Georgia would be his only option among the 12. However, the 247Sports Crystal Ball currently has Oklahoma as the front-runner to land him.

But there’s a lot of time left in Overton’s recruitment. And considering he listed half of the SEC, there’s a decent chance he could end up playing in the conference.

While many of these schools have long been pursuing Overton, Kentucky was the most recent to extend him an offer, as the Wildcats did so on Aug. 12.

With so many schools still in the running, Overton has plenty of options still to consider. And he’ll likely be cutting this list down a few times before making a decision.
