Published:
LSU increased its lead to 2 possessions midway through the 4th quarter against Ole Miss.
It was a crazy play to unpack. Brian Thomas came down with a top-tapping TD reception from a fantastic throw by LSU QB Jayden Daniels, who recognized a free play opportunity. The call on the field was a touchdown for Thomas, though it didn’t quite look like he got his feet timed with a secure catch.
The play was reviewed and stood on the field, gibing LSU a 49-40 advantage with just 8:31 remaining in the final quarter.

Immediately following, some brouhaha erupted on the extra point when an Ole Miss defender threw a punch at an LSU O-lineman.

Ole Miss fans reportedly started throwing garbage on the field to air their frustrations soon after:

And after all that, Ole Miss still has time to make a push. The Rebels are driving and into LSU territory with under 6 minutes remaining.
Buckle up.
