The SEC had 10 players taken in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but not all of those players will immediately become successful in the pros.
However, there should be at least a few of those players who make quick impacts and get named on the 2018 All-Rookie team.
On Tuesday, NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks projected his All-Rookie team, and had five former SEC stars named (including one non-first round pick):
- Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals
- Isaiah Wynn, OL, New England Patriots
- Da’Ron Payne, DL, Washington Redskins
- Roquan Smith, LB, Chicago Bears
- Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Miami Dolphins
All of those players will be in great situations this fall, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them succeed quickly.
There could be other former SEC stars who emerge, but for now, this is who Brooks thinks will be honored after the season.
