Report: Mississippi State going ‘all in’ to keep Dan Mullen in Starkville

As has been the case for a number of years, any time a big-time job opens up in the college football world, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen’s name comes up as a possible hire.
However, up to this point, he’s stayed with the Bulldogs in Starkville, earning himself a few raises and extensions.
Even after a disappointing Egg Bowl loss to Ole Miss on Thursday night, the Bulldogs aren’t about to let Mullen walk to Tennessee or Florida (or any other job) without a fight. According to FOX Sports reporter Bruce Feldman, the Bulldogs are going “all in” to keep Mullen and his staff in Starkville:
Have been told this AM #MissState is set to step up and go all in to keep Dan Mullen at MSU, making an even bigger commitment to him and to his staff.

Though the Bulldogs will drop from their spot at No. 14 in next week’s College Football Playoff rankings, Mullen has overseen a huge rise in national prominence for Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs will head to a solid bowl game this year and have plenty of pieces to build around heading into 2018.
Whether Mullen takes a new job or not remains to be seen, but for now, the pressure is on at Mississippi State.
