Week 4 has come and gone, and with it, we’ve seen Kentucky beat Mississippi State, Georgia hold off Mizzou, Alabama continue its run of dominance, Tennessee look terrible and more.
After each week’s action, SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic jumps on Twitter and shares his thoughts on each of the 14 SEC squads.
Below, he shares his takeaways from each team following Saturday’s Week 4 action. Check them out:
We do it every week. The Sunday SEC takeaway…
ALABAMA: Tua exceptional again. Spreading the ball around making them very difficult to defend & the offense hasn’t had to lean on the OL/run game yet. Q Williams becoming a star on defense. Penalties would be the only real concern

AUBURN: Got a conference win. Offense has a lot of growing up to do. Brahms might help at center but just not a very physical offense & will need to adapt through WRs & QB. Defense showed more pressure packages & DL was disruptive. Special teams were big enough to win the game.

GEORGIA: Scored in all three phases. Made big plays. OL struggled a bit with movement up front. The skill guys were fantastic. Fromm tested for first time this fall. Defense got pressure when they needed it. Nice road win in division. Holding Lock w/o a TD pass is impressive.

LSU: Sleepwalking after a huge road win. 1st turnover of the season is disappointing but I’m not hitting the panic button on the Tigers. LT found a few things through the air & defense didn’t execute. Secondary gets a bigger test this week. White was all over the place. Again.

MISSOURI: Hit early & often with explosive plays. Special teams kept tigers from building momentum. DL played inspired football. Protection was issue. Turnovers were a killer. When you attach points to those can’t beat a great team. Lot of positives to build around moving FWD.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Nice road win. Wasn’t sure what we’d get after cancelled game. Really nice to see the run game get rolling. Bentley needs that to excel. Dowdle was nice. Need to clean up flags & turnovers. Smith is a weapon! Defense made plays vs a very good & efficient SEC QB.

TEXAS A&M: Had some early success with QB runs but couldn’t make a living on it. Giving up big plays & turning the ball over early in Tuscaloosa is a recipe for disaster. Just no answer for Tua & the WRs. Will need to offset to workload for Mond moving fwd. OL struggled.

VANDERBILT: Thought Shurmur & pace of play could keep Dores in this game. Rush defense need to put the game on Bentley. Weather delay made it tough. Wiley looked good on defense. Shurmur has been great protecting the ball & didn’t vs South Carolina.
