Texas A&M has landed a commitment from 4-star 2025 safety Rashad Johnson.
The Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter defensive back had been a Georgia pledge since mid-July, but A&M stayed on his radar after initially missing out and bridged the gap. Johnson officially flipped his commitment on Saturday during the Aggies’ Week 2 game against McNeese State.

Johnson was on campus for the Week 1 opener against Notre Dame. He took his official visit to College Station back in June. Penn State and Louisville were also under consideration.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back is a 4-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s the 34th-ranked safety in the class and the 56th-ranked recruit from the state of Florida. Overall, Johnson sits at No. 391 in the national player rankings.
He’s a multi-sport athlete, who also competes in multiple track and field events. He played both sides of the football as a junior as well, recording 59 tackles, 7 pass breakups, 6 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception. He scored 3 touchdowns on offense. Johnson also had 5 pass breakups and 2 interceptions as a sophomore.
With the pledge, A&M’s top-10 class now holds 21 known commitments. Johnson is the 16th blue-chipper to join the class, which ranks eighth in the country in the 247 team rankings. Mike Elko has had no issue recruiting talent to A&M since taking over.
