Texas is officially on the board for the first time as a member of the Southeastern conference.
Texas running back Quintrevion Wisner did the honors, rushing it in from 7 yards out to give the Longhorns a 7-0 lead over Colorado State following the extra point. Wisner, a sophomore, has 22 rushing yards as the Longhorns now lead Colorado State 45-0.

The Longhorns’ transition to the SEC is going to be interesting to watch. Everyone that follows college football knows Quinn Ewers (260 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Texas are considered to be real contenders for the National Championship this season, but it’s always going to be easier said than done when the Longhorns still have a tough SEC slate ahead of them.
The Longhorns will face off against Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida and, even though they’re also joining the conference this season, Oklahoma in 2024. They’ll likely be favored in all those games except Georgia, and the Longhorns get the bulldogs at Darrell K. Royal Stadium in Austin (which may mean they’re favorites in that game, too.)
Time will tell if the Longhorns can be a true force in this conference. For now, they’re shooting for 50 against Colorado State with under 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter.
