WATCH: Alvin Kamara praises Mark Ingram for helping him win Offensive Rookie of the Year award

Former Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara had a rookie year to remember in 2017, accounting for 1,554 total yards and 13 total touchdowns as a member of the New Orleans Saints.
For his efforts, he was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday night. However, he knows he didn’t find success alone, so he gave credit to teammate Mark Ingram — a former Alabama running back — for helping him learn what it takes to be a pro.
In the video below, shared by NOLA.com on YouTube, Kamara explains how Ingram helped him find such a high level of success as a rookie:
“I wish he was here because he’s a big reason why I’m standing right here and y’all are interviewing me as the Offensive Rookie of the Year,” Kamara said. “Great teammate, great friend, a brother to me, great mentor. I came in and he showed nothing but love to me and helped me with anything I needed, whether it was on or off the field. Our friendship off the field helped us tremendously on Sundays. We created a bond I don’t think will ever break.”
Ingram and Kamara are one of the most fearsome backfield duos in the NFL, and opposing defenses won’t be excited to see the Saints on their schedule in 2018 and beyond.
