Zion Childress has made a decision. He will be returning to Lexington for a 3rd season at Kentucky and a 5th season in college football.
The Kentucky defensive back totaled 50 tackles with 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 2 pass deflections this past season for the Wildcats. He’s one of the better members of a secondary that should return Maxwell Hairston as well.
Childress played 2 seasons at Texas State before transferring to Kentucky prior to the 2022 season. He appeared in 24 games with 14 starts for the Bobcats across 2 seasons.
On Sunday, Childress posted the following message to social media:

The Wildcats had a bit of a strange season. The Wildcats started 5-0 and finished 7-5 after hitting SEC play and struggling. The Wildcats will face off against Clemson in the Gator Bowl on December 29 from Jacksonville.
