College football fans call out Ohio State for padding CJ Stroud’s Heisman stats in blowout
By Keith Farner
Published:
CJ Stroud is among the Heisman Trophy contenders at the midseason point in the season, and the Ohio State quarterback is trying to put up numbers to separate himself from Hendon Hooker of Tennessee, not to mention Bryce Young of Alabama, or Chase Brown of Illinois.
Stroud’s status in the game against Iowa received plenty of attention as the Buckeyes built a big lead in a 54-10 victory. The Buckeyes led 26-10 at halftime, and scored another 2 touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters. Stroud finished with a 20-for-30 passing performance for 286 yards with 4 touchdowns and an interception. He also gave up a fumble on a sack early in the game.
Fans and media called out Stroud still being in the game despite the outcome being decided, and at one point, leading by 37 points.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction:
Hooker stopped playing when his game was out of reach, where as Stroud used this time to pad his stats to mask a pretty mediocre day! Fun facts!

CJ Stroud still leads the way for Heisman as of right now. The first half of play that he put on tape was uglyyyyy, but he looked like the guy we all remember in the 2nd half.
Next week @ Penn State will be pivotal.
