Earlier this month, Quinn Ewers decided to skip his senior year and reclassify for the class of 2021, set to join the Ohio State Buckeyes ahead of the upcoming season. In doing so, he’ll also be able to take advantage of his share of endorsement.

One endorsement has already been secured.

On Monday, Ewers announced that he had signed a NIL deal with Texas-based Holy Kombucha. Take a look at the video below:

A star at national power Southlake Carroll High School in Texas and the No.; 1 recruit in the country according to 247Sports, Ewers originally committed to the Texas Longhorns in August 2020. However, he de-committed 2 months later, opting to pledge to Ohio State in November.

Originally set to enroll with the class of 2022, Ewers opted to instead reclassify in order to take advantage of the new NIL regulations allowing student-athletes to profit off their name, image, and likeness. We’ll see if that opens up the door for other student-athletes, especially football players, to make the same move in the coming years.
