Former Ole Miss WR A.J. Brown is becoming a bona fide star in the NFL, and his latest play for the Tennessee Titans shows why.

Brown scored on a 37-yard pass from Ryan Tanehill early in the game against the Jacksonsville Jaguars. It was a one-handed grab off his finger tips with a defender on his hip on a play that was started with a flea flicker.

Brown is becoming a unique force in the NFL, something he discussed last month with the Associated Press.

After a rookie season when he had 1,051 yards receiving, the second-round pick out of Mississippi in 2019 and Starkville native joined Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss as the only receivers since 1970 to pile up at least 75 catches with 12 TDs while averaging at least 18 yards per reception.

Moss had 82 catches for 1,556 yards with a 19-yard receiving average and 20 TDs in his first 20 games, while Brown had 75 catches, 1,383 yards and 12 TDs averaging 18.4 yards per catch.

“My confidence is still growing,” Brown said. “I like to tell myself I haven’t done anything yet, never too high, never too low. I’m still working every day, always trying to improve something to my game. I am nowhere I want to be, but I feel like I am getting there.”

Coming into Sunday, he had 44 catches for 725 yards, a 16.5 yard average, with 8 touchdowns.
