Former Ole Miss star Dexter McCluster lands coaching job at Nashville high school
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Dexter McCluster was one of the most-dynamic players in Ole Miss history, running for 1,955 yards and 15 touchdowns and adding 130 catches for 1,703 yards and seven scores as a receiver.
He then went on to the NFL, where he made the 2014 Pro Bowl. Now, though, his career as a player is over.
But, when the 2018 season kicks off, he’ll be back on the sidelines — this time as a coach. According to the below tweet, McCluster will be Ravenwood High School’s freshman head coach, as well as the varsity RB and returners coach:
Raptor Football is very proud to announce our new Head Freshman Coach @dextermccluster! A former NFL player for Titans, Chiefs, & Chargers and one of the all-time @OleMissFB greats! This is a big step for McCluster, as the Nashville-area school is a talented one.
Could a return to the college level as a coach be in his future? We’ll have to see, but he’s off to a good start.
