Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels will take on Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in what Kiffin has described as potentially the “last time” he will face off against Saban.

Kiffin is 0-4 against Saban, including 0-3 as a former Saban assistant. Kiffin will be looking to get into the win column against Saban for the first time on Saturday as Alabama looks to stay alive in the SEC.

Saturday morning, Kiffin appeared on SEC Nation to reflect on the rivalry with Saban and share his appreciation for the veteran coach.

“I was in a very challenging difficult time … kind of a really rock bottom and I have so much appreciation for what Nick Saban did for me,” Kiffin said of joining the Alabama staff.

Kiffin also made an interesting comment about this weekend potentially being the final time the 2 coaches square off.

“So, we’re very excited for this opportunity today — and you never know how many more you’ve got,” the Rebel coach added. “Maybe this is our last time. So, we’ll be very excited for this opportunity today, and so much respect for Coach and the Alabama football program.”

It is notable that Ole Miss and Alabama are not scheduled to play in 2024, and the 2025 schedule has not been released yet. It is also worth noting that Saban will celebrate his 72nd birthday next month.

The Rebels and Tide will kick off from Tuscaloosa at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
