Tim Elko’s stretch without a home run is over after a strong afternoon in Baton Rouge. He homered in each game of Saturday’s double-header as Ole Miss took both games on the road.
In the first game, Elko homered in the top of the 5th to give the Rebels a bit of breathing room, 5-2. Ole Miss would go on to win 5-3 in the opener. It snapped a streak of 5 games without a home run for Elko.
In the second game of the day, Elko opened the scoring in the top of the first. This time, it was a bullet line drive to the opposite field to start the scoring for the Rebels.
Tim, you should find yourself a safe house or a relative close by. Lay low for a while because you’re probably wanted for murdering that ball. pic.twitter.com/buZQ7XxL2b

Elko’s home run was a part of 10 unanswered runs for Ole Miss to open the second game. The Rebels would go on to win 11-1.
With 2 home runs on the afternoon, Elko now has 19 for the season and 41 for his career. That moves him into a tie for 2nd place on Ole Miss’ all-time home run list.
With his second home run this afternoon, @TimElko moved into a tie for the second most home runs EVER hit by a Rebel.
