The 2023 NFL Draft is only a couple of months away. When Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, steps to the podium for Round 1 in Kansas City on Thursday, April 27, he’s sure to call more than 10 names of former SEC stars.

Many expect Alabama QB Bryce Young to be the No. 1 overall pick, but that would likely mean the Chicago Bears would have to trade the selection.

ESPN’s Matt Miller released his 2-round mock draft on Monday and he expects 15 SEC stars to go in Round 1. He has the Indianapolis Colts trading up with the Bears to take Young first:

  • No. 1 — Bryce Young, QB, Alabama — Indianapolis Colts
  • No. 2 — Will Levis, QB, Kentucky — Houston Texans
  • No. 3 — Will Anderson Jr., Edge, Alabama — Arizona Cardinals
  • No. 4 — Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia — Chicago Bears
  • No. 11 — Broderick Jones, OL, Georgia — Tennessee Titans
  • No. 15 — Brian Branch, DB, Alabama — Green Bay Packers
  • No. 16 — Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida — Washington Commanders
  • No. 19 — Emmanuel Forbes, DB, Mississippi State — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • No. 21 — Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia — Los Angeles Chargers
  • No. 23 — Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas — Minnesota Vikings
  • No. 24 — Darnell Wright, OL, Tennessee — Jacksonville Jaguars
  • No. 25 — Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee — New York Giants
  • No. 26 — O’Cyrus Torrence, OL, Florida — Dallas Cowboys
  • No. 30 — Derick Hall, DL, Auburn — Kansas City Chiefs
  • No. 31 — Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia — Philadelphia Eagles

Miller also projects 6 SEC standouts to go in Round 2 of the draft. Check out those projections here.
