A look at the bizarre, surreal atmosphere at Navy’s season-opening game against BYU with no fans

When Army hosted Middle Tennessee on Saturday, there was a smattering of cadets in the stands. Other games on Saturday also featured fans, albeit in a drastically limited capacity.
However, the U.S. Naval Academy was denied a waiver to allow midshipmen to attend Monday night’s game against BYU, so there were no fans in the stands.
That, understandably, has led to some bizarre scenes. Below, you can take a look at some of the surreal pictures from the game thus far:

It’s great that football is being played, but it must be tough to keep your energy levels up on the field without the crowd noise.
The Midshipmen are indeed off to a slow start, as the visiting Cougars hold a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter.
