LOOK: Boise State’s iconic blue turf getting updated design

I’d imagine you and every bird flying over Boise, Idaho, know about the Broncos’ iconic blue turf.
The construction on Albertsons Stadium started this week to replace the blue turf with a better, updated version. It is scheduled to be completed by May 30, and the cost of construction is expected to be between $600,000 and $1 million.
On Thursday, the school shared an image of the current stadium and what it will look like after construction is complete:

As you can see from the GIF above, the turf will be extended eight to 12 feed on the east, while the west will be extended all the way to the side of the stadium. Font-style and numbers will be updated. The Albertsons Stadium logos will also be updated.
Boise State has played on blue turf since 1986, and it was the first non-green artificial football field in the country.
