The USA TODAY Coaches Poll was released Sunday after the completion of Week 4 on Saturday night, and the SEC had its usual fingerprints all over the poll, with 9 teams from the conference being included in the top 25.
Among those 9 teams, an astonishing 5 of the top 6 teams in the poll were from the SEC. The 9 teams from the SEC included Georgia, which kept its position at No. 1, Texas, which stayed at No. 2, Alabama and Ole Miss, which remained 4th and 5th, respectively, and 6th-ranked Tennessee, which moved up 1 spot in the new poll after its impressive road victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night.
The other teams from the SEC in the new poll included: No. 11 Missouri, which fell 3 spots after needing overtime to beat Vanderbilt at home; No. 13 LSU, which moved up 3 spots after taking care of UCLA easily on Saturday; No. 18 Oklahoma, which fell 5 spots after losing to Tennessee at home; and No. 24 Texas A&M, which held its spot from the previous week.
SEC programs South Carolina and Arkansas each received 2 votes.
