Georgia Southern fell to 6-4 on the season with a 30-24 loss at Georgia State on Saturday.
Now, the Eagles are making a change. On Sunday morning, it was announced that the Eagles were firing OC Bob DeBesse and promoting QB coach Doug Ruse to interim offensive coordinator.
As you can see below, head coach Chad Lunsford released a statement on the decision to make the change:

As mentioned earlier, the Eagles are 6-4, so it’s unclear why this move was made now. It’s not like the offense was particularly bad on Saturday, either.
Georgia Southern ran for 296 yards and 3 touchdowns against Georgia State. The defense was more of the problem, giving up 395 yards through the air to the Panthers.
Either way, a change was made, and now we’ll see if the Eagles’ offense improves moving forward.
