Desmond Howard shares his favorite Lee Corso memory from College GameDay
Desmond Howard has been working on ESPN’s College GameDay since 2005. That’s a lot of time with Lee Corso.
Howard has been blessed to see a number of Corso’s best moments on the show, and he shared his favorite recently for a Sling TV promotional. You can probably guess which memory is at the top.
“My favorite Lee Corso moment was when Lee Corso dropped an f-bomb on live television,” Howard said.

That happened 12 years ago during the headgear segment for GameDay’s trip to SMU-Houston. To this day, it remains one of the more iconic moments in the show’s history.
Kirk Herbstreit interviewed Corso about the moment two years ago on the 10-year anniversary and Corso shared that even his grandkids heard his gaffe.
“The funny thing about it is I got home and my grandkids said, ‘Grandfather, you’re a hero on the Internet. You said a bad word on television.’ I said, ‘Geez, what a way to be a hero to your grandchildren,’” Corso said then. “I was so embarrassed. … I haven’t thought about it much. It was really a disappointing thing. … They wrote me a little apology and I read it while smiling. They said, ‘You know, take two. This is serious though.’ … We’re still here, and I can’t believe it.”
Corso, Howard, and the rest of the GameDay crew are in Tuscaloosa this week for the Alabama-Texas matchup.
