DFS Picks of the Week: Our top Underdog plays for college football and NFL, Nov. 4-5

We’ve got an elite weekend of football in store, y’all! In the college ranks, first place in the SEC East and SEC West are up for grabs when Georgia hosts Missouri and LSU heads to Alabama.

In the NFL, we get to wake up on Sunday morning (after an extra hour of sleep, in most states) and see Kansas City-Miami in Germany! There will be more than 12 straight hours of NFL action on Sunday, which is a great thing to see as the weather cools off through most of the United States.

Our DFS experts, Andrew Olson and Adam Spencer, break down their favorite picks on Underdog for both Saturday and Sunday action. This week, they’re focusing on some big-time matchups in both the college and NFL ranks.

Our Week 10 College Football Picks

Andrew Olson

Jalen Milroe, Alabama: Higher than 237.5 passing yards

I’m not sold on this LSU passing defense, especially in a road environment. Jordan Travis, KJ Jefferson, Jaxson Dart and Brady Cook put up some big numbers this season against the Tigers. I like Milroe to join the club.

Haynes King, Georgia Tech: Higher than 228.5 passing yards

King has had some ups-and-downs this season, but he finished October on a high note leading the Yellow Jackets to an upset win over North Carolina. As one might expect, UVA’s defensive performances have varied with the quality of opposing quarterback. I think King is starting to put it together and Week 9’s momentum will carry over to Saturday.

Sam Hartman, Notre Dame: Lower than 1.5 passing TDs

Not much is going right for Clemson this year, and Dabo is losing it on the call-in show. One thing the Tigers are doing well? Defending the pass. Clemson has only allowed 8 passing touchdowns this season. Hartman is a great QB, but without his leading receiver, I’m not expecting multiple Irish scores through the air.

Adam Spencer

Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss: Higher than 77.5 rushing yards

Judkins has had back-to-back 124-yard efforts. Even though Texas A&M has a better defense than either Vanderbilt or Auburn, I expect Lane Kiffin to call Judkins’ number early and often. He’ll put up close to 100 yards in what should be an electric SEC West battle.

Luther Burden III, Mizzou: Lower than 92.5 receiving yards

Burden is incredible, but he hasn’t hit this number in his last 2 outings. Kentucky provided the blueprint of how to limit Burden, and I expect Georgia to have studied that film closely. The Bulldogs also have better athletes in the secondary than Kentucky. Could Burden still go for 7 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown? Absolutely. He’s that good. But I think he’ll have trouble finding 90+ yards against the Dawgs’ elite defense.

Carson Beck, Georgia: Lower than 284.5 passing yards

I think the Mizzou-Georgia game is going to feature more defense than expected. Both teams could play at a slower pace than we’re used to seeing in the SEC East showdown. Beck could still have a big day, but asking him to throw for 285 yards against this talented Mizzou defensive line and secondary won’t be easy.

Our Week 9 NFL Picks

Andrew Olson

Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys: Higher than 3.5 receptions

Tony Pollard hasn’t been the Tony Pollard fantasy owners were hoping for this season. He’s overdue for an impact game. The Eagles have one of the NFL’s best run defenses. The Cowboys have leaned on the passing game this season. I like Pollard to get some touches as a receiver.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins: Higher than 91.5 receiving yards

Sorry to disappoint some of Kansas City’s newer fans, but I’m filling the last blank space on my picks list with a former Chief. Bad blood or not, this game hits different for the Cheetah. Miami, Missouri or Germany, it doesn’t matter where the game is being played. The Chiefs know all too well that Hill will shake off the coverage.

Adam Spencer

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints: Higher than 245.5 passing yards

Carr has very quietly put up 3-straight 300+ yard performances against AFC South opponents. The Bears are bad, so this could turn into a blowout, but I still think this number is too low. Carr can get to 250 passing yards on Sunday.

Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings: Higher than 11.5 rushing attempts

The Vikings are starting Jaren Hall at QB after Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury last week. Expect Mattison and Cam Akers to both get plenty of work as Minnesota bridges the gap until newly acquired QB Joshua Dobbs is ready to play.
