ESPN announces hiring of Phil Steele as full-time college football, gambling analyst
Arguably the most recognizable name in the world of annual college football preseason magazines, Phil Steele has just been brought on by ESPN in a full-time capacity. ESPN announced news of Steele’s hiring Friday morning along with the hiring of Joel Anderson, formerly of BuzzFeed.
Steele has a previous working relationship with ESPN, as he has written for ESPN Insider and ESPN the Magazine over the years. He also appears regularly on the network’s various college football television programs during the season.
According to a release from ESPN, Steele was brought on to bring expertise and experience covering the NFL, college football and sports betting.
