The career of former Georgia QB Jacob Park has been a long and winding one.

After leaving the Bulldogs, Park attended Trident Technical College — a school without a football team. He got back into football at Northeast Oklahoma A&M and then transferred to Iowa State.

However, just as he was settling in as the Cyclones’ starter, it has been confirmed that he’s not with the team ahead of Saturday’s game against Oklahoma.

According to The Des Moines Register, Park has taken a leave from the team to deal with unspecified medical issues, coach Matt Campbell said:

“Jacob is a great young man dealing with some personal medical concerns,” Campbell said in a statement first obtained by the Register on Friday. “We are committed to helping him cope, supporting him on all levels and helping him prepare to get back on the playing field with his teammates as soon as possible.”

The Cyclones need Park back as soon as possible, so hopefully his medical issue isn’t too serious.

Here’s hoping we haven’t seen the last of the talented Jacob Park on the football field.
