Kamarion Franklin, 4-star DL from Mississippi, drops top 5 and commitment date

Kamarion Franklin released his top 5 and commitment date on Friday per On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett. There is a chance he could be headed to the SEC.
Out of the five teams on Franklin’s list, three of them were from the SEC. Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Auburn were all included. The other two teams were Miami and Florida State.
Franklin will be picking one of those schools on Aug. 19.

The 247Sports Composite ranks Franklin as the No. 8 DL and No. 1 prospect out of Mississippi in the 2024 class. He is the listed as a 4-star DL by 247Sports.
Franklin brings a lot of athleticism to the table. While football is his main sport, he also plays basketball for Lake Cormorant.
Franklin has visited with some of his top teams already. Franklin visited the Hurricanes on Jun. 2 and Volunteers on Jun. 16. He will be visiting with Auburn on Sept. 2.
Auburn could have its first commitment from a true DL in the 2024 class if Franklin chooses Hugh Freeze and the Tigers. Tennessee has a trio of defensive linemen signed up already in 3-star commits Jeremias Heard, Kellen Lindstrom, and Carson Gentle.
The only DL pledged to Ole Miss is 4-star commit Jeffery Rush.
Whatever team lands Franklin will be earning a pledge from an impressive two-sport athlete. Here’s a highlight tape of Franklin from his junior season:
