Mississippi State, Vanderbilt advance to College World Series

Mississippi State and Vanderbilt have already punched their tickets to Omaha, Nebraska, for the College World Series.
The Commodores defeated Duke 13-2 Sunday to win the Super Regional, while MSU defeated Stanford 8-1 Sunday night.
For Vandy, it will be the fourth time in program history it has been to Omaha. The Commodores have already tied a program record with a ridiculous 54 wins (54-11), and it will face Louisville either Saturday or Sunday in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament. Vanderbilt showed incredible resolve after getting hammered 18-5 Friday night in the opening game against the Blue Devils; however, Kumar Rocker’s no-hitter on Saturday helped pave momentum for Sunday’s big win.
Mississippi State, however, swept Stanford in Starkville — 6-2 Friday night and 8-1 Sunday night. MSU has been on a tear this season led by senior OF Jake Mangum and ace pitcher Ethan Small.
Senior OF Elijah MacNamee also delivered an epic three-run bomb in the top of the ninth Sunday night that included likely the best bat flip in college baseball history.

At least one more SEC team will advance to the College World Series, too, Monday. Auburn and North Carolina are tied at 1-1 with the final game scheduled for Monday at 1:00 p.m. Ole Miss also plays Arkansas at 4:00 p.m. Monday. Both games will be featured on ESPN2.
