ESPN’s ‘Stanford Steve & The Bear’ give betting thoughts on Alabama vs. Georgia in SEC Championship Game

“Stanford Steve” Coughlin and Chris “The Bear” Fallica have a bit of a difference of opinion when it comes to their picks between Alabama and Georgia in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game.
The duo spotlighted the matchup during the most recent episode of their betting-themed ESPN podcast. Depending on where you look, the odds favor the Bulldogs by around a touchdown or less, while Coughlin and Fallica made their picks based on a 6.5-point spread.
For Coughlin, his pick was for the Bulldogs, with Alabama covering.
“I just like the capability of Alabama’s offense against that Georgia defense,” according to TideSports. Listen, Georgia’s going to win the majority of the time, but I think (Alabama has) the goods to keep it close. I think they’re going to put pressure on Georgia’s corners that they haven’t even come close to seeing all year…I do think Bryce Young is that good, and I think Alabama’s defense will bring something to the table and show up and keep Georgia at bay.”
Fallica, meanwhile, picked Alabama to both win outright and cover, while noting that the reason behind the current spread stemmed from the Tide’s close call against Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
“It’s still Alabama and the talent that they still have there is insane,” he said. “They survived a game they should have lost. Bryan Harsin and Tank Bigsby kind of botched the end of the game. But Alabama still had to make the play there to get the game to overtime, and they did.”
