The SEC has now had a two-year drought since Derrick Henry won the Heisman Trophy back in 2015 but if BetOnline’s updated odds to win the award are accurate, there will be several players from the league vying to win the award in 2018.
Both Alabama and Georgia placed multiple players on the list provided by online sportsbook BetOnline. Also of note, three quarterbacks that were once SEC players that have since left via transfer were also listed as Heisman contenders by the sportsbook.
Here are the seven SEC players that made the offseason Heisman prop list:
- Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia: +1000
- Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama: +1000
- Jalen Hurts, QB, Alabama: +2000
- Jarrett Stidham, QB, Auburn: +2500
- D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia: +3300
- Drew Lock, QB, Missouri: +3300
- Nick Fitzgerald, QB, Mississippi State: +3300
Former SEC players on the list include:
- Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan: +1600
- Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma: +2000
- Will Grier, QB, West Virginia: +2000
