WATCH: James Madison mascot scared of Lee Corso’s headgear

ESPN analyst Lee Corso always ends the show by putting on a mascot head or dressing in a funny costume, and sometimes the crew is joined by a live animal, too.

On Saturday at James Madison, a powerhouse FCS school, the team’s mascot — Duke the bulldog — joined the squad at the desk.

However, when Corso put on the Dukes’ mascot head, real-life Duke wanted no part of it, getting scared and backing away, as you can see below:

Kirk Herbstreit, meanwhile, tried to keep the dog from backing all the way off the table, doing his best to calm and contain Duke.

That’s not exactly a great sign for James Madison, but it’s probably safe to say the Dukes won’t back away from the Villanova Wildcats the same way Duke backed away from Corso.
