Who will win the SEC East? ESPN’s FPI updates odds for each program to reach Atlanta

Who will win the SEC East in 2023? Usually this would be a pretty cut and dry answer: Georgia.
But this time around, you can see why it’s hard to guarantee anything. Georgia has looked human this season, starting slow against both South Carolina and Auburn before letting pure talent take over.
Tennessee, Kentucky and Mizzou have started the season well. The Vols dropped a game to Florida but look to still be strong after a 41-20 win over South Carolina Saturday. Kentucky and Mizzou both improved to 5-0 with respective wins over Florida and Vanderbilt, and both should be ranked heading into Week 6.
And still, ESPN’s Football Power Index leans heavily with the Bulldogs. That’s what history tells us. Check out each SEC East squad’s chances of heading to Atlanta at the end of the regular season below:
- Georgia: 80.2%
- Tennessee: 7.7%
- Kentucky: 6.4%
- Mizzou: 3.6%
- Florida: 2%
- South Carolina: .2%
- Vanderbilt: 0%
It’s all about knocking off Georgia. Tennessee, Mizzou and Kentucky all get a shot at the Bulldogs in the coming weeks.
Let’s see how Georgia fares.
