Dylan Stewart is set to return to South Carolina in 2025 after agreeing to a new deal with the Gamecocks, according to a report.

On3’s Pete Nakos was first to break that news on Tuesday morning. According to that report, Stewart is expected to earn somewhere between $1 million to $1.5 million on his new agreement with South Carolina.

That’s massive news for South Carolina’s 2025 team. The Gamecocks will be hoping to make a Playoff push next season after narrowly missing out in 2024. Stewart will be a major part of those efforts.

Despite being a true freshman in 2024, Stewart was one of the SEC’s most impactful pass rushers this year. He finished his freshman campaign with 10 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. He was also credited with 20 total tackles and 3 forced fumbles.

As a recruit, Stewart was one of the highest-rated prospects to sign with South Carolina in recent memory. He was a 5-star prospect and was considered the No. 15 overall player in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Stewart and the Gamecocks will face Illinois in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
