Gerald Kilgore, Tennessee Tech DB, announces SEC commitment

Gerald Kilgore, a defensive back from Tennessee Tech, is ready to play in the SEC after he narrowed his list of teams to West Virginia and Florida Atlantic.
Kilgore committed to South Carolina with a re-post of Shane Beamer, who gave a “welcome home” alert.
Kilgore will have 3 years of eligibility remaining, and he narrowed his group of finalists from a group of schools that also included offers from Ball State, Tennessee State, Chattanooga, West Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and Charlotte.
Kilgore is 6-foot-2 and 202 pounds, and was at Tennessee Tech the last 2 years, but redshirted in 2022. This past season, he appeared in 11 games and made 37 tackles with 2.5 for loss while also breaking up 5 passes.

The Gamecocks have been busy in the transfer portal, including additions from running backs Rocket Sanders (Arkansas) and Oscar Adaway III (North Texas) and Jawarn Howell, wide receivers Jayden McGowan (Vanderbilt) and Jared Brown (Coastal Carolina), tight end Brady Hunt (Ball State) defensive linemen Deandre Jules (Pittsburgh) and Kyle Kennard (Georgia Tech).
