Star Houston DL Ed Oliver calls out new Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher over magazine cover slight

The latest season-preview issue of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine featured new Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher on the cover.
That, apparently, didn’t sit well with star Houston DL Ed Oliver, who may end up being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, depending on how the draft order shakes out.
In a profile in Sports Illustrated, Oliver says he doesn’t think Fisher has accomplished anything in Texas yet and clearly believes he should have been the cover photo:
“He didn‘t do nothin’ but get paid a whole bunch of money,” says Oliver.
Oliver says he’s over that slight, and now he has another cover in mind. He says, “I need to get on Sports Illustrated.”
Fisher and his massive new contract certainly generated the most buzz in Texas this offseason, so it’s understandable that the magazine would choose him for the cover.
Still, Oliver is a star, and he probably deserves more attention than he’s been getting.
