TCU coach Gary Patterson says Texas A&M leaving the Big 12 ‘hurt us a little bit’

Back in 2012, the Texas A&M Aggies made the decision to leave the Big 12 for the SEC and haven’t looked back.
Now, the Big 12 only has 10 teams in football and hasn’t been the same conference it once was when Mizzou, A&M, Colorado and Nebraska were members.
On Monday at Big 12 Media Days, TCU coach Gary Patterson, whose Horned Frogs entered the Big 12 to help replace Texas A&M and Mizzou, said he thinks losing the Aggies hurt the conference as a whole:

According to 247Sports, Patterson’s comments are in stark contrast to some light-hearted remarks TCU AD Chris Del Conte had a couple of months ago about the Aggies’ decision to leave:
“Thank God A&M decided to make a wrong error [an] erroneous mistake,” Del Conte said. “They left, allowed us to get in. It’s [been] smooth sailing ever since.”
Obviously, the Horned Frogs benefitted from A&M leaving, but after the Big 12 once again failed to place a team in the College Football Playoff last season, the conference is undeniably weaker than it once was.
