Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork reports ‘less than 5’ Aggies tested positive for COVID-19

As football players across America return to campus to begin voluntary workouts ahead of the 2020 season, there have been a few who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Texas A&M was no exception, as new AD Ross Bjork said the team had a handful of positive tests this week.
Per Bjork, less than 5 Aggies tested positive, all were asymptomatic and there are plans in place to keep everyone safe (via DallasNews.com):
Bjork said “less than five” returning athletes tested positive for COVID-19 this past week in tests by the school. All were asymptomatic, Bjork said, and under A&M’s plan were placed in self-isolation with contact tracing.
“We knew we would have positive tests,” Bjork said. “That’s why you do the tests, to verify that your plan is working and to verify the health and safety of athletes, which is the most important thing.
“Once there’s a positive test, there’s an action plan, we follow all the safety procedures.”
This seems like something many campuses will be dealing with, as Alabama, Oklahoma State, Arkansas State and other programs have reported positive cases, mostly asymptomatic.
Texas A&M and other schools have plans in place, it seems, so as long as they continue to follow those protocols, the chances of the 2020 season starting on time remain strong.
