Texas A&M big man Javonte Brown entered the transfer portal Wednesday after 2 years in College Station. The former top 100 prospect and UConn commit transferred to College Station in 2022 after playing just 6 minutes in Storrs.
But he didn’t see much playing time with the Aggies either. Brown played an average of 10 minutes per game in 2021-22, and things didn’t get much better this past year. The 7-footer appeared in just 7 games, scoring a season high 4 points against ULM and Prairie View A&M.

The Aggies had a strong end to the season end prematurely in the NCAA Tournament to an equally red-hot Penn State team. The Aggies were better than their No. 7 seed ranking, but so were the Nittany Lions. One of many mistakes the NCAA Selection Committee made this past season.
As for Brown, he’s likely to transfer to a mid-major program where he will be able to see the court more after 2 stints at Power 6 programs.
