Former Tennessee defender Greg Emerson announces transfer decision

Greg Emerson is staying in the state of Tennessee to continue his college football career. The Tennessee transfer defender announced his commitment to Memphis on Wednesday.
Emerson entered the NCAA transfer portal in late June after three seasons with the Volunteers. Emerson played in one game in 2018 and then in 21 games over the past two seasons. In his three seasons at UT, 31 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 2 pass deflections.
Emerson was a 4-star prospect out of North Side High in Jackson, Tennessee. He committed to Tennessee on July 3, 2017. Emerson’s recruiting profile shows that coming out of high school he also had scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
