Former Tennessee quarterback Josh Dobbs was injured in Pittsburgh’s Friday preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

Dobbs is now dealing with turf toe.

Curt Popejoy of Steelers Wire writes that the injury hurts Dobbs’ chance of getting the QB3 roster spot out of camp:

Everyone wants to talk about the competition between Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins and Mason Rudolph for a spot on the depth chart behind Ben Roethlisberger. But the truth is, Haskins is closer to Joshua Dobbs than he is Rudolph and has shown it throughout the preseason.

Dobbs has been in the NFL since 2017, playing in 6 regular-season games.
