One of the most intriguing Week 1 matchups of the college football season is West Virginia vs. Tennessee, which will take place in Charlotte.
Many expect Heisman candidate QB Will Grier and the Mountaineers to pick up an easy victory, but ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit isn’t so sure about that.
On “SEC This Morning” on Tuesday, Herbie said he thinks the Vols’ athleticism will make things much closer than most people think:
"Wouldn't surprise me if Tennessee gives West Virginia a run for their money in Week 1. A lot of hype for Will Grier and rightfully so but the Vols still have some serious athletes – @KirkHerbstreit just now with us on #SECThisMorning on @SIRIUSXM

It will be tough for the Vols to stop Grier and the WVU offense, but in Jeremy Pruitt’s first year as the head coach in Knoxville, expect Tennessee to be a much tougher foe than it was in 2017.
Saturday’s game is scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on CBS.
