Last year, Tennessee went into Allen Fieldhouse and hung tough with Kansas, leaving with a narrow 74-68 loss to the Jayhawks.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the Vols and Jayhawks would square off in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, which will be held on Jan. 30, 2021. Again, it should be a matchup of 2 of the top teams in their respective conferences.

After learning the news, Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said he’s excited for the challenge of facing the Jayhawks again (via RockyTopInsider.com):

“We’re excited about having a chance to play Kansas again,” Barnes said. “We had a really good game against them a year ago.”

Will the Vols be able to pull out the win this time around? They’re bringing in a great recruiting class, while Kansas lost its top players from last year.

Whatever the case, it should be a fun game!
