Tennessee DB Todd Kelly Jr. responds to speculation about why he was in the hospital

Todd Kelly Jr. was taken to the hospital on Thursday night, and since then, speculation about why has been running rampant.
Tennessee insider Jimmy Hyams reported (and it is very important to stress that he had no confirmation) that Kelly was hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt following a fight with his girlfriend.
However, on Friday afternoon, Kelly responded to the rumors going around, saying his surgically repaired knee gave out and that’s why he was hospitalized:

Kelly missed most of the 2017 season with a knee injury and is expected to take a medical redshirt and return to the Vols in 2018 for his redshirt senior season.
However, in the wake of Friday’s news about his injury and a potential incident, it remains to be seen if he will be healthy in time for the start of next season.
