Josh Heupel met with reporters following Tennessee’s dominant bounce-back 45-14 win over UTSA Saturday evening.
The Vols got out to a fast start and for the most part didn’t look back. Tennessee was bigger along the line of scrimmage and controlled the run game throughout, which led to big plays out wide and down the field from Joe Milton. Though, it’s worth noting Milton’s inconsistency was a slightly worrying sight for Tennessee fans.
In fairness, Milton is not working with the best offensive line in the world. Cooper Mays once again missed a Saturday for Tennessee. Here’s what Heupel had to say about his absence:

Still, there was more positive than negative for Tennessee Saturday. One major positive was Dylan Sampson, who had a career high 139 yards with 2 touchdowns against the Roadrunners.
Heupel was mostly brief postgame, but made an effort to discuss Sampson’s impact on the squad this season:
Tennessee HC Josh Heupel on RB Dylan Sampson: Dylan has been a good leader in the locker room. Competitive. Willing to do whatever he has to do to help the team… Going to need him as we continue to go, too.

The Vols are back in action next Saturday against South Carolina. The game is set for a 7:30 kickoff and will be aired on SEC Network.
Let’s see if the Vols dress for revenge.
