Ryan Wingo, 5-star WR from St. Louis, announces SEC commitment

Ryan Wingo has committed to play in the SEC.
The 5-star wide receiver from St. Louis verbally pledged to Texas on Wednesday. Multiple recruiting experts had expected Wingo to stay home and play for Mizzou. He also had hats on the table for Georgia, Miami, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

A standout of St. Louis University High School, Wingo is listed as measuring 6-2, 205 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Wingo is rated 5-stars, the No. 2 recruit in the state of Missouri, No. 7 wide receiver and No. 24 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.
Wingo told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that it was painful to choose Texas over a rising Mizzou program.

During his recruitment, Wingo picked up scholarship offers from 42 programs. Texas hosted Wingo last month on an unofficial visit to Austin.

With Wingo on board, Steve Sarkisian’s staff has secured 19 commitments for Texas’ 2024 recruiting class, ranking No. 13 nationally on the Composite ahead of December’s Early Signing Period.
