Agiye Hall recently got the attention of the college football world when he made some noticeable changes to his social media profiles. On Tuesday, reporters and fans observed that Hall had removed all mentions of the Texas Longhorns from his social media accounts. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian addressed Hall’s status on Wednesday night.
The lack of Hall on the Texas roster led to further speculation about the receiver’s status with the program, but Sarkisian confirmed Hall had not been on the Longhorns’ roster because he’s not enrolled at UT Austin. Sarkisian implied his staff had a hand in Hall scrubbing his social media of any mentions of the Longhorns. He added that Hall has signed a financial agreement with Texas. While the agreement does not bind Hall to enroll in Austin, the Longhorns are optimistic about officially adding the Alabama transfer wide receiver.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian asked about incoming WR transfer Agiye Hall and the hubbub about him scrubbing his social media profile. “We might’ve had a hand” in that. Says Hall has signed scholarship paperwork.

Steve Sarkisian says Agiye Hall has signed a financial aid agreement with UT, which ties UT to Hall but does NOT bind Hall to UT.
Steve Sarkisian: “He was never on our roster because we don’t put players on our roster until they arrive.”
Adds: “We feel good about that.”

Hall announced his commitment to Texas on April 20. In the class of 2021, Hall was a 4-star recruit, rated the No. 5 wide receiver and No. 45 overall prospect nationally. Hall had a standout performance in Alabama’s 2021 spring game but was limited to just 4 catches for 72 yards in his freshman season. He has 2 catches for 52 yards in UA’s College Football Playoff National Championship loss to Georgia.
