Something shocking is happening in Nashville, Tennessee: The Vanderbilt Commodores don’t look completely helpless against a quality opponent. Quarterback Diego Pavia and the Commodores have found the end zone for the first time this season.

Pavia, a transfer from New Mexico State, found wide receiver Quincy Skinner Jr. for 6 in the corner of the end zone for 6. The senior QB had to loft the ball to only where Skinner could snag it. The Commodores added another touchdown the following drive and now lead 17-0 halfway through the 2nd quarter.

Check it out below:

Look, y’all. It’s early. But Pavia (5-6, 80 yards and a touchdown) has looked promising to start this one, and that ball to Skinner could not have been placed any better. Virginia Tech was championed by many as a sleeper in the ACC this season, and the Commodores have dominated thus far.

Not just on offense, either. Virginia Tech has racked up less than 50 yards halfway through the 2nd quarter, and the Hokies have already turned the ball over thanks to this huge play from Vanderbilt DL Glenn Seabrooks and LB Bryan Longwell:

You have our attention, Vanderbilt. Let’s see if they can finish this one off following a statement start.
